What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance/Facilities position at Pembroke & Company, Inc.?
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance & Facilities professional who will handle all maintenance needs at a food production facility, specifically producing Ready-To-Eat (RTE) bakery items. This person will be responsible for all maintenance-related facility upkeep, through both repairs and preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate will have an extensive mechanical background with experience in a food production setting.
This is a full-time position in Lewiston, ME, and flexible availability is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain records, and ensure proper and timely execution of preventive maintenance (PM) procedures for all facility equipment and infrastructure.
- Identify, diagnose, and handle equipment repair needs with efficiency.
- Support coordination and maintain positive relationships with vendors and contractors, verifying compliance standards and regulations are met.
- Support food safety, security, and quality standards by certifying upkeep and compliance of all facility equipment and functionality.
- Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance logs, records, and reporting.
- Additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required. A valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) and/or OSHA certification is a plus.
- Must have a thorough understanding of bakery and/or food service manufacturing equipment.
- Proven knowledge and experience with mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems is required.
- Proven experience as a maintenance manager or similar role is preferred.
- Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues quickly.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Candidates should be able to sit, stand, traverse, etc. for up to 12 hours and lift to 50lbs.
