The starting pay for this role is $26.40-29.70 per hour.
About the role:
Analyzes consumer loan applications and provides credit decisions on all consumer loans, including secured and unsecured loans and lines of credit, credit cards, and direct and indirect auto loans. Analyzes all relevant data to make the appropriate loan decision. Manages the risk of credit decisions by requesting stipulations or modifying terms of a request to ensure compliance with lending policies, procedures, and risk appetite. Communicate credit decisions and inquiries to internal staff, dealer partners, or members when necessary.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyzes consumer credit applications to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money. Clearly communicates credit decisions to branches, members, or dealer partners.
- Assists employees, members, and dealer partners with questions regarding the credit union’s loan programs. Responsible for assisting in the resolution of loan related issues for internal partners, members, or dealerships. Provides superior customer service levels to members, internal partners and dealer partners.
- Maintains and upholds all compliance standards related to lending. This includes state and/or federal regulations, internal policies and/or procedures, and any other required actions to ensure compliance within our underwriting process.
- Identifies cross sell opportunities to expand member relationships. Communicate these opportunities to internal partners or members.
- Accepts and performs additional job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
- Education/Certifications/Licenses: High School Diploma. Two-year college degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.
- Other Skills: Ability to develop an opinion based on factual analysis and deliver a written and verbal opinion under stress. Excellent technical, analytical, numerical, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and teamworking skills are also essential.
