Position Overview
Our client is seeking a dynamic Software Category Manager to lead the sourcing, procurement, and vendor management for software-related categories. This role is responsible for driving cost efficiencies, mitigating risks, and managing vendor relationships to meet business goals. The successful candidate will partner with internal stakeholders, ensure compliance, and lead strategic initiatives that enhance the organizations technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Category Management :
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for software categories, including SaaS, enterprise software, and infrastructure technologies.
- Stay informed about market trends, supplier innovations, and advancements in mobile messaging technologies (e.g., SMS, RCS, app-based messaging).
- Partner with IT, Finance, Legal, and Engineering teams to align procurement goals with business objectives.
Vendor Management :
Build and maintain partnerships with global software vendors and resellers, ensuring top-tier service, quality, and pricing.Conduct vendor business reviews, monitor performance, and implement improvement initiatives.Negotiate contracts, licenses, and terms to achieve advantageous outcomes for the organization.Manage supplier relationships, operational issues, and project deadlines to ensure seamless service delivery.Cost Optimization and Risk Mitigation :
Drive cost savings by scrutinizing supplier pricing structures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.Mitigate risks and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate standards across global markets.Optimize procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce overall organizational costs.Align with cross-functional teams to manage third-party risk and ensure organizational priorities are met.Process Improvement and Systems :
Leverage procurement tools like Coupa, ZipHQ, and NetSuite to streamline workflows and reporting capabilities.Drive automation and system optimizations to improve procurement efficiency.Develop and communicate vendor onboarding processes, ensuring adherence to high ethical and operational standards.Data and Reporting :
Generate and maintain procurement KPIs and dashboards to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.Present insights, recommendations, and cost analyses to senior leadership.Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.5 years of technology sourcing / procurement experience, with a focus on software and services in a multinational organization.In-depth understanding of best-in-class procurement processes, including sourcing, contracting, and negotiation.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and work in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with procurement platforms (e.g., Coupa, ZipHQ, NetSuite) and advanced MS Excel skills.Preferred Qualifications :
Professional certifications : CPSM, CPM, or PMP.Knowledge of contract terms and conditions, as well as data analysis.Strong project / program management skills and communication abilities.
