- Supervising visits between children and parents
- Transporting children to supervised visits
- Transporting children to doctor and dentist appointments
- Referring families to appropriate community resources
- Documenting visits and all interactions with families
- Participating in team meetings and discussions
- Testifying in court
- Providing any additional support services needed by supervisors or permanency planning social workers
- Weekly check in with Social Work Supervisor for weekly travel visitation schedule.
- Transport parents to random drug screens if requested.
- Assisting with displaced foster youth that stay in building
- Perform other job-related duties as required.
Must be proficient in the use of computers, printers, calculator, copy machine, fax machine, scanners, state terminals and the telephone system. Must be able to communicate with the public and respond effectively to a wide range of behaviors and attitudes. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Outlook. This position requires the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and assignments. Good organizational skills are essential to this position. Good mathematical reasoning is required. The ability to communicate with clients/applicants, the public at large, and public officials to obtain data, and to give general descriptions of the program’s clientele is inquiring about. Ability to diffuse potentially hostile clients and be firm in communicating the agency’s position on eligibility. This position requires the ability to prioritize, delegate, plan, and organize tasks effectively. Must express excellent communication, organizational skills and in addition possess good judgment skills. This position must possess sound clerical, grammatical, and verbal skills.
VALID NC DRIVER’S LICENSE
72 HOURS OF CHILD WELFARE PRE-SERVICE TRAINING
24 HOURS OF CONTINUING EDUCATION ANNUALLY
Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
