Job Overview
The Certified Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) plays a vital role in supporting the daily activities of our Nursing Services team at Peninsula Behavioral Health, WA.
This position requires providing clinical assistance to clients seeking medication support services and performing routine in-house testing as ordered. The MA-C assists with medication services at residential facilities and maintains connections with pharmacies and medical providers throughout the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct client care related to observation, intervention, and stabilization of clients with chronic mental illness.
- Offer clinical services including observation, administration of medication, monitoring vital signs, assessing compliance, and observing for side effects.
- Obtain patient medical history, medication reconciliation, and chief complaint.
- Perform EKG, phlebotomy services, urine dips, genetic testing, and other in-house testing as ordered.
- Process refill requests and prior authorizations per department procedures.
- Document care within Nursing Services guidelines and standards.
- Teach and evaluate training for clients and staff on medication self-administration programs.
- Collaborate with clinical staff and supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED; completion of a college-level Certified Medical Assistant Program.
- Eligibility for license as an MA-C in Washington State.
- One year of clinical services experience.
