Responsibilities for Lead Fabricator
•Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and procedures
•Manage multiple fabricators and projects in a manufacturing environment
•Ensure all safety procedures are followed, and the proper PPE is in place
•Perform First Article Inspections.
•Train, and supervise weld staff
•Troubleshoot and resolve problems with fit up, or machines as they occur
•Coordinate jobs
•Evaluate welder performance
Qualifications for Lead Fabricator
•Must have extensive knowledge in rigging and crane safety
•Previous experience managing workers in a manufacturing setting is required
•Deep knowledge of all welding processes, cutting processes, and heat straightening
•8-15 years' experience as a welder
•Must have strong attention to detail
•Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
•Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential
•Must have a positive and professional attitude
•Available to work weekends and overtime
•Capable of standing for extended periods of time
•Non-ferrous welding experience is a plus
