Your Role as Art Specialist
As the Art Specialist, you’ll play a key role in shaping the camp experience for children in grades TK-5. Your mission? To make art a joyful and meaningful part of their summer. Whether it’s painting, crafting, or exploring new techniques, you’ll infuse every activity with energy and creativity, while weaving in Jewish cultural themes like Chaverut (Friendship) and Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World).
Your Responsibilities
- Design and lead engaging art activities for children in grades TK-5.
- Maintain and organize art supplies to keep the creativity flowing.
- Collaborate with staff to infuse art into camp-wide programs and special events.
- Develop and deliver training to empower other staff with art skills.
- Participate in field trips, camping trips and other camp-wide events.
The Fine Print
Schedule: June 16 – August 8 (with limited schedules to August 27), Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:30 pm, with mandatory staff training from June 3–13 (including an overnight).
Compensation: $906–$1051 per week based on experience, plus overnight bonuses and free PJCC Athletic Center membership.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The work environment is characterized as loud. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, run or crawl.
Events: Be part of special celebrations like the Family Pool Party (June 27) and the Family Picnic (July 25).

What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Must be a high school graduate or age 18 . 1-2 years of experience in education.
- Passion for Youth: Strong enthusiasm for working with children in grades TK-5.
- Curriculum Development: Experience creating engaging educational materials incorporating Jewish themes.
- Certifications: CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain during training).
- Team Player: Collaborative mindset and ability to work with diverse populations.
- Camp Experience: Prior experience in a camp setting is a bonus.
Salary : $906 - $1,051
