Your Role as a Camp Counselor
As a Camp Counselor, you’ll be the heart of Camp KEFF. Guided by the Camp Leadership Team, you’ll ensure each camper feels welcome, safe, and valued. From leading activities and resolving conflicts to collaborating with other staff, you’ll create a positive and memorable experience for all campers.
Your Responsibilities
- Safety First: Prioritize the physical and emotional well-being of campers.
- Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve conflicts to maintain a harmonious group dynamic.
- Program Leadership: Plan and implement engaging activities that align with the camp’s goals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with fellow staff to support camp-wide programs and events.
- Mission-Driven: Uphold the mission and values of the PJCC and Camp KEFF in all your interactions.
The Fine Print
- Schedule: June 16 – August 8, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:00 pm, with mandatory training from June 9–13 (including an overnight).
- Compensation: $700–$812 per week based on experience, plus an hourly rate for extended care and bonuses for overnight activities.
- Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The work environment is characterized as loud. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, run or crawl.

Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- Education: High school graduate or age 18 .
- Experience with Youth: Preferred experience working with children in grades TK-9.
- Enthusiasm for Camp: Passion for working with youth and fostering a fun, supportive camp environment.
- Camp Experience: Previous experience in a camp setting is a plus.
- Flexibility: Comfortable supervising children in a pool setting.
Salary : $700 - $812
