Your Role as Extended Care Counselor
As an Extended Care Counselor, you’ll be a key part of our afternoon program, creating a safe and enjoyable environment where campers can relax, play, and connect after their camp day. Your creativity, collaboration, and dedication will make a meaningful impact on every camper’s experience.
Your Responsibilities
- Safety First: Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all children in your care.
- Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve conflicts to maintain a harmonious environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other counselors to create a positive, team-oriented atmosphere.
- Engaging Activities: Plan and lead a variety of fun, age-appropriate programs tailored to the interests of campers.
- Mission-Driven: Uphold the mission and values of the PJCC and Camp KEFF in all your interactions.
The Fine Print
- Schedule: June 16 – August 8, (with limited schedules to August 27), Monday–Friday. Shifts available from 2:30 pm–6:00 pm or 12:00 pm–6:00 pm. Mandatory training from June 9–13 (including an overnight).
- Compensation: $17.50 per hour, plus paid training and free PJCC Athletic Center membership.
- Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The work environment is characterized as loud. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, run or crawl.

Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- Education: High school graduate or age 18 .
- Passion for Youth: Strong enthusiasm for working with children in grades K-5.
- Experience: Previous experience in a camp or recreational setting is a plus.
Salary : $18
