With our get-it-done attitude and focused mission, we are growing at an unprecedented rate and are therefore seeking a Data Scientist. The Data Scientist will play a critical role in working on site with Penlink’s key customers, leading large data analytical missions, and generating actionable insights. This position requires an individual with a strong analytical background who can independently manage his or her tasks, collaborate with customers, and hold high work ethics and communication skills.

This position is located in Lincoln, NE.


Requirements:
  • Deliver high-quality, accurate, and timely data analysis and reports.
  • Maintain databases in optimal condition, ensuring high performance and security.
  • Collect and preprocess data from various sources and formats.
  • Normalize data from diverse sources to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Automate data loading processes to handle multiple file types simultaneously.
  • Identify patterns of behavior and commonalities within the data and frequencies and apply custom filters and grouping to fulfill this task.
  • Perform geolocation analysis using unified mapping functions to identify geo signals, routes, and patterns.
  • Reporting and Visualization:
  • Generate comprehensive reports and visualizations to present findings.
  • Present and brief main stakeholders through detailed reports and presentation.
  • Create interactive dashboards for real-time data monitoring and analysis.
  • Main point of contact for technical support related to data analysis processes.
  • Ensure data integrity and security throughout.
  • Update and maintain analytical tools and scripts as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in data science, database management, and law enforcement analytics.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.

YOUR COMPETENCIES & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in data analytics and relational databases.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in Data Science or a similar degree.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, particularly Oracle SQL Developer or PL/SQL Developer.
  • Strong programming skills in SQL or PL/SQL required.
  • Experience in an analytical programming language such as Python or R preferred.
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of geospatial analysis and mapping tools.
  • Experience with a data visualization tool such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Ability to interpret complex data sets and identify patterns and trends.
  • Experience in creating detailed reports and visualizations.
  • Experience in network analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Results-driven, self-starter, with outstanding interpersonal abilities, attention to detail, and organization.
  • Proven technology skills and outstanding interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Standard 40-hour week from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines or respond to urgent requests.

Note: Offer conditional upon ability to pass a background government investigation/security clearance.
