DUTIES: In this role, you will be monitoring and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of electronic data entry into the Nebraska Inmate Case Management System (NICaMS) and other NDCS data systems. You will be designing methods to develop, manage, and analyze large, complex, structured and unstructured datasets; creating codebooks and documenting business rules for data entry into various NDCS electronic data systems; creating, analyzing, and testing reports in Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE); developing visualizations of data that can be easily comprehended for non-technical audiences; analyzing data, interpreting results, and summarizing information into meaningful findings for end users and decision makers at various levels within the agency.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Post high school coursework, training, or experience in the analysis of business processes and system requirements, and the creation of business process applications.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in criminal justice, data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics or related field. Ideal candidates will have post high school coursework/training in data science and statistical analysis; experience supporting criminal justice applications and business processes; experience with the Nebraska Inmate Case Management System (NICaMS); experience with Oracle Business Intelligence and Oracle Analytics systems; experience serving on teams with members from varying professional backgrounds. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and provide outstanding customer service.
Other: Transcripts required prior to appointment. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite; advanced skills in statistical analysis software (e.g., STATA, R) and programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL); principles and processes involved in business and organization planning, coordination and execution; design techniques, principles, tools and instruments; instructional methods and training techniques; using facilitation, math and scientific methods to solve problems; clearly convey technical and non-technical end users.
