The Business Development Director is responsible for actively growing revenue, developing and managing accounts within pharmaceuticals and biotechnology in the U.S.

The Business Development Director will report directly to the VP sales and Business Development
The Business Development Director will lead sales activities to develop new business that utilizes Minakem contract manufacturing services. The candidate will lead the strategic analysis of new projects and potential clients while developing strategies for the U.S. to compliment corporate business plans. This individual will assess the commercial viability of potential projects in the bio-pharmaceutical industry.
With specific focus on external client opportunities that have not been aggressively pursued in the past, the Business Development Director will have a tremendous opportunity and responsibility to make a top - line impact on the U.S. business. The key task of the position is to help the efforts to build and maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers in the U.S.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Pro-actively identifies new potential clients and broaden customer base. Attends trade shows to promote Minakem offer and meet customers and prospective clients
- Identification of new business opportunities.
- Focus on customer needs and providing tailor-made solutions.
- Close cooperation with research, process development and production in order to work out competitive advantages by using state-of-the-art technology.
- Providing hands-on day-to-day management when appropriate.
- Co-operative teamwork in order to realize short- and long-term operational plans to move the company’s business unit strategy forward.
- Accurately forecasts annual, quarterly and monthly project and revenue streams
- Other duties as assigned
Profile
- University degree in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy, Ph.D. organic chemist preferred
- The Business Development Director will have 5 years progressive experience, including demonstrated success in sales, marketing and key account management focusing on the Life Sciences industry. The ideal candidate will also have experience in the field of Custom Synthesis and Manufacturing.
- The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling large accounts within the pharmaceutical industry. He/She will have an established network of contacts within the target client community and have the demonstrated ability to develop those contacts with major accounts.
- The Business Development Director will have relevant professional knowledge in biology and organic chemistry; the know-how of key technologies in pharmaceutical development and production and the ability to engage in highly technical discussions in exploring potential business opportunities.
- The successful candidate will have professional experience working for large companies with complex organizational structure. Experience in the discovery and assessment of new business opportunities is required. This individual will have a high level of energy, and be team oriented with a strong sense of ownership for the business.
