Why Join Our Team?

Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a level 3 NICU specializing in the care of newborns after birth. Our NICU is a 13-bed unit taking care of infants born as early as 28 weeks. Patients are admitted after birth for any complications, genetic disorders, or prematurity. We also care for infants in need of respiratory support in the form of Nasal Cannula, High Flow Nasal Cannula, CPAP, SiPAP and SIMV. Our NICU also has a collaboration with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and has a Neonatologist in house 24/7. If an infant is born outside of our criteria, we will stabilize the infant and transfer to another facility.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Will function as a receptionist, conducts specific clerical duties for the unit and provides administrative support to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager by coordinating a variety of operational activities.
  • This position will be cross trained and responsible for assisting the nursing staff as directed
  • Makes observations of patient condition and reports and documents information as requested. Has good communication skills with patients/families and co-workers and is able to make suggestions regarding the patient's needs for nursing care.


Scheduling Requirements:

  • 2-3 days per week. Flexible day shifts
  • Will have to work some ‘difficult to staff’dayper calendar year (Easter, Mother’s Day, Halloween, ‘Black Friday, Good Friday, Christmas Eve, Valentine’s Day or New Year’s Eve)

What We Require for this Role:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.


Related Work Experience

  • No related experience required for this role.


LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Nursing Assistant Course- Successful completion of hospital onsite course during first two weeks of orientation and prior to patient care assignment
