SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Trauma Program Manager is an integral member of the Department of Pediatric Surgery. In collaboration with the Trauma Program Medical Director, the Trauma Program Manager is responsible for the overall development and execution of the trauma program in accordance with the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation Standards of Accreditation. The Trauma Program Manager oversees the development and operations of the trauma performance improvement program, pediatric injury prevention program, trauma registry functions, community/ EMS outreach, and internal/external trauma education. This position serves as a liaison with external entities and local/state/national trauma organizations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Master’s Degree preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within one (1) month
- Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) within six (6) months
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months
- Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months
- American Trauma Society Trauma Program Managers Course within one (1) year
- Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course (TOPIC) within one (1) year
- Child Passenger Safety Technician within two (2) years
- Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) certification within three (3) years
- Five (5) years RN experience in the care of traumatic patients within an emergency or critical care setting.
- Master's degree in Nursing
- Abbr. Injury Scale (AIS) within twelve (12) months
- ICD10 Coding Certificate (ICD) within twelve (12) months
- Basic Trauma Registry Course within twelve (12) months.
