Primary responsibility will be the recruitment and enrollment of students, particularly from multicultural and underrepresented student populations. This includes developing campus and community partnerships as well as ensuring the campus effectively engages and serves students, families, secondary school partners, and others at the University who work with diverse populations.Job Responsibilities : Territory Management - Develop and maintain relationships with local school districts and youth-serving agencies within Bucks and Montgomery County; travel to out-of-state high schools on behalf of the university representing Penn State at high school visits, college fairs, and other presentationsCounseling - Interact with prospective students and families regarding interest in admission and options at Penn State and Penn State Abington; working with drop-in prospects, scheduled prospective student presentations through the Campus Visit Program, outreach through email, phone calls, and SMS, virtual, and in-person visitsApplication Review Evaluate and analyze credentials on students' applications to determine eligibility for admissionsRecruitment Event Planning and Coordination - Assist with planning and implementation of major recruitment events on-campus and virtually such as open house programs, workshops, and accepted student programsRequired & Preferred Qualifications : The position requires a bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.The ability to drive to high schools and other off-campus events in the region is also required.Some evening and weekend work is required during peak times.Excellent verbal, written, presentation and organizational skills with the ability to manage concurrent projects is critical.Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.The successful candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of the Admissions and Financial Aid Team, have excellent customer service skills, a high work ethic, professionalism, a passion for helping people pursue higher education, and should be detailed orientated.Additional preferred qualifications : Bi-lingual in English and SpanishDemonstrated commitment to work with individuals from underrepresented backgroundsThis position requires successful completion of the following publicly availableclearances : Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background CheckPennsylvania Child Abuse HistoryFederal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background CheckThis position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties.
