A manufacturing company located in Malvern, PA is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer for its engineering department. This role will involve using SolidWorks 3D CAD software to engineer equipment, systems and components for the fire sprinkler industry. Job responsibilities : Generate comprehensive specifications for new products and product improvements; Produce CAD models, manufacturing assembly drawings, and BOMs, ensuring they are to proper standards and within specification; Perform necessary calculations to verify the validity of the design; Establish costs for fabrication, manufacturing, assembly, and testing of new products; Create, assemble and test working prototypes; Create clear, concise, and comprehensive instructions for assembling and testing by manufacturing staff; Create clear, concise, and comprehensive installation instructions for customers. Job requirements : Mechanically oriented engineering degree, preferably BSME; 5 to 10 years' experience in a design engineering role; Fire sprinkler industry experience desirable, but not necessary; Experience with electromechanical product design including PLC ladder logic and control panel fabrication; Excellent knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD software; CSWP preferred; Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
