What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at Penn Terminals LLC?
PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION: The key role of an employee who works as an Accounting Clerk is to ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
Prepare monthly general ledger journal entries and month end accruals.- Prepares & file sales and use tax returns.
- Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Perform Financial analysis.
- Review monthly P&L and ensure accuracy.
- Assist with financial and tax audits.
- Assist with the month-end closing process adhering to strict deadlines.
- Provide back-up and support to the Finance Team
- Takes the initiative and seeks process improvement opportunities within assigned responsibilities.
- Completes other duties as assigned to meet accounting department responsibilities.
All other duties as assigned

Requirements:REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 or more years of recent Corporate Accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, with advanced level of Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
