Position: Set Up Technician (Press) (3rd Shift)

Summary
Sets up and operates power press to trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp metal by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications.
- Adjusts ram stroke to specified length.
- Cleans and lubricates machines.
- Sets up auxiliary equipment such as reel stands, straightener, shaker, etc.
- Monitor tool condition.
- Operate stamping presses and related process equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures, work instructions, and specifications.
- Positions work piece against fixtures or stops on machine bed or on die.
- Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
- Understands and comprehends quality requirements.
- Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and notify appropriate personnel of any quality defects.
- Ensure parts are properly stacked or packed for movement or shipment.
- Must perform daily start-up safety checks prior to machine operation.
- Positions work piece against fixtures or stops on machine bed or on die.
- Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
- Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors.
- Ensure parts are properly stacked or packed for movement or shipping.
- Understands and follows the appropriate lock out / tag out procedures for each press.
- Follow all safety procedures and programs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
One year certificate from college or technical school; and six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
