At the forefront of medical discovery as it relates to understanding the causes of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and dementia, Pennington Biomedical Research Center is a campus of Louisiana State University and conducts basic, clinical and population research. The Center includes Basic Science, Clinical Research, and Population and Public Health, enabling both focused research and translational science. Research at Pennington Biomedical is supported broadly by multiple NIH Research Centers , and includes approximately 65 faculty and 20 postdoctoral fellows who comprise a network of 44 laboratories and 13 highly specialized core service facilities. Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation, supervision, and execution of study specific exercise testing protocols.
- Assist in providing calibration and maintenance of equipment in the exercise testing laboratory.
- Assist with data management.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology, exercise science, kinesiology or related field
- CPR/AED/BLS certification required or ability to obtain prior to hire
- Highly motivated and organized
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
- ACSM or NSCA or other professional exercise specialist certification
- Experience working and communicating with aging populations or populations with chronic illness
- Experience in conducting VO2max/submaximal test via the treadmill or bike
- Experience executing exercise prescriptions
- Experience with performing and reading ECG tests
- Experience with dynamic isokentic dynamometer testing
