Description:
Assists Principals and Project Managers with delivery of multiple projects for Public, Private, and Institutional clients. The general scope of services may include preparation of technical studies and reports, master planning, programming, design, bid, construction inspection and construction management. Project types include public/private developments, multi-disciplined utility analysis/design/installation, rail and bus transit projects, streets, parking lots, general public works projects and building site development.
Duties:
Manage technical aspects of project delivery from conceptual planning through completion supporting strategic and long-term planning efforts. Coordinate with sub-consultants, manage activities of internal staff, establish and monitor adherence to project schedule and budget. Serves as project liaison with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies to negotiate and resolve project issues. Provides all necessary coordination and follow-up on the work to ensure quality standards are met, efficiency levels are maintained, and client satisfaction, respect and confidence are assured. Develops and directs project work standards from design through final commissioning and equipment acceptance. Reviews vendor and manufacturer design and specifications on project equipment and materials. Meet with clients, prepare and deliver presentations. Prepare proposals, facilitate contract processing, coordinate project set up and billing with accounting team. On site construction oversight and inspections on various public and private projects, including civil public works projects as well as underground utilities.
Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience with skills to manage multi-disciplined engineering projects.
- Must have strong technical knowledge with proven experience in preparing technical reports, designs, specifications, and computations.
- Must have a thorough understanding of practices and procedures in private development, public works, and institutional facilities.
- Prior public works construction experience in transportation projects is a plus, but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Construction Management or related field or demonstrated experience.
- Professional Engineering License or Project Management Professional Certification highly desired
- Demonstrated ability to interact in a cooperative and effective manner with clients and regulatory agencies and the ability to manage multiple/simultaneous projects.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate the work of consultants.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to work independently.
- This position requires knowledge in computer software utilized in the project management industry, Word, Excel/PowerPoint required, BlueBeam Revu and AutoCAD/MicroStation is a plus.
