Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to lead our project management team in Chantilly, VA. As a Senior Engineer, you will oversee diverse multi-discipline design projects, working on both public and private site development projects. You will collaborate with municipal clients across different markets, gaining invaluable experience while making a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will tackle various exciting tasks based on your technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Your work will include designing and planning developments that include critical infrastructure components (i.e., Stormwater Management, drainage, erosion control, etc.). You will also handle land development applications, code reviews, and feasibility studies across diverse markets.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks, monitoring schedules and budgets to ensure effective completion.
- Meet regularly with clients and regulatory agencies to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Prepare proposals for new and existing clients, including estimation of project fees.
- Oversee the development of Land Development Plans, including engineering design drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports.
- Coordinate permits and land development applications for review and approval from regulatory agencies.
- Attend meetings and participate in planning and zoning board meetings.
- Assign tasks to Design Engineers and Drafters, providing mentorship and guidance in developing SWM strategies, Utility Coordination, and Erosion and Sediment Control Design.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 9 years of professional experience in Engineering, preferably with Land Development design projects.
• Professional Engineer license in VA.
Preferred Qualifications
• Management and/or Project Management experience, with a proven ability to manage multi-discipline projects.
• Experience working on brownfield and greenfield projects.
• Advanced proficiency with site design functions, including site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management, and erosion control.
