Overview
The Director of Finance/Controller supports and collaborates with the chief financial officer in establishing and directing the financial operations of the College to support the strategic plan of the College, while ensuring the financial stability of the organization. This position will function as the chief accounting officer at the College and be responsible for organizing, directing and evaluating a wide variety of financial activities across the College. Flexible schedule to meet deadlines of office-hours beyond the normal workweek may be required.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field. Required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Certified Public Accountant. Preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Eight (8) years of related experience in finance and accounting. Required
- Five years of supervisory experience. Required
- Detail knowledge of, and experience in, higher education and not-for-profits. Preferred
- Public accounting experience. Preferred
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Proven managerial and leadership ability, including but not limited to strategic planning, personnel, budget and resource management. Required
- Demonstrated experience in short and long-term financial planning, accounting, financial systems, treasury and debt management. Required
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, project management, problem recognition and resolution skills. Required
- Effective oral and written communication skills. Required
- Ability and experience developing, implementing and maintaining internal controls to effectively safeguard and manage finance resources. Required
- Ability to develop collaborative and strong working relationships with internal and external constituencies as a service-oriented professional. Required
- Knowledge and possession of high professional standards and a personal code of ethics characterized by honesty, integrity, openness, and fairness. Required
- Ability to interpret and appropriately apply accounting principles and regulations. Required
- Skilled in directing multiple tasks simultaneously, setting priorities, and organizing operations. Required
- Ability to lead a team of professional staff, serve as an internal resource and consultant, and work collaboratively with a wide array of faculty, staff and or administrators. Required
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and support professional staff members. Required
