What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter, Temporary, Part-time position at Pennsylvania College of Technology?
Perform painting, drywall finishing, and related duties working from drawings, sketches, specifications, or verbal instructions. Work hours are determined by the College and are subject to change. Academic year and summer hours are established to meet the needs of the department and the College. May be required to work during delays and snow closure days that may fall on scheduled workdays. Will be required to work overtime on short notice to include evenings, weekends, special events and call ins at the discretion of the appropriate supervisor. This position will work 37.5 hours per week during the temporary assignment.

EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED. Preferred
- Four (4) years full-time experience as a professional painter in industrial, commercial, and residential buildings. Required
- Four (4) years' experience in taping and finishing of drywall surfaces to provide a measure of expertise. Required
- Experience in commercial, industrial and institutional environments. Required
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings. Preferred
- Knowledge of chemical reactions from all types of paints, varnishes, and solvents that may be used on various surfaces. Required
- Possession of a valid driver's license. Required
- Ability to use power shakers, ladders/scaffolding, mechanical lifts, and requisite tools of the trade. Required
- Prepare, sand, prime paint, and otherwise finish wood, concrete, plaster, sheetrock, and steel surfaces.
- Varnish and stain natural wood finishes.
- Choose and prepare for approval by supervisor or College official color samples for interior and exterior paint schemes.
- Tape and finish drywall surfaces
- Set-up, climb, and work from ladders and scaffolding.
- Exposure to dust, paint fumes, and harsh chemicals.
