What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembler position at Pennsylvania Machine Works?
Overview:
The assembler is responsible for assemble, inspect, and troubleshoot products and sub-components using hand tools and power tools.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects parts to assure they are clean and free of contaminates. Remove visible dirt, grit oil, grease and other foreign matter from valve product parts, prior to assembly.
- Reviews and verifies work/sales order to customer requirements.
- Verify parts per bill of material and drawings. Assemble parts in proper sequence, as specified in the drawings or method specifications.
- Assembles components to applicable procedures using lubricants, power tools, torques wrenches, specialty tools, etc.
- Creates and attaches nameplates. Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area. Practices good housekeeping in work area. Utilizes & abides by ISO/API and Safety Procedures.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience (1 year).
- Well organized and able to work minimal supervision
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to operate required equipment necessary for task at hand

- Pulling/pushing, bending, standing, sitting, and walking are all encountered throughout the workday
- Lifting requirement of 45 pounds
