What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Shop Helper position at Pennsylvania Machine Works?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the smooth transition and transport of parts from the machine shop to inspection.
- Assist with maintenance and Lubrication on machines within the Machine Shop.
- Ensure machine shop is clean in appearance including removing trash and sweeping as required.
- Successfully operate forklift and move pallets of goods throughout shop floor.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or G.E.D. required.
- Minimum of one year of general assistant experience in a large machinery/equipment-manufacturing environment strongly desired.
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to read a tape measure required.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment, proactively contributing ideas to improve operations required.
- Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, tactful, and self-directed when faced with tight deadlines and fluid environments required.
- Basic oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English required.
- Must possess a proven history of being reliable with excellent attendance.
- Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethics.
