What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Fulfillment Manager position at Pennsylvania Machine Works?
This position is located in Aston, PA and does not offer relocation. Successful Applicants must be local to the Aston - Philadelphia, PA area or within driving distance.
Applicants without Manufacturing experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement comprehensive fulfillment strategies aligned with business goals, including inventory forecasting, production scheduling, and logistics optimization.
- Operational Management:
Oversee day-to-day fulfillment operations, including production planning, order processing, picking and packing, quality checks, and shipping.
- Inventory Control:
Manage inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess inventory, optimizing warehouse space utilization and tracking product movement.
- Quality Assurance:
Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the manufacturing and fulfillment process, including implementing quality control checks and identifying potential issues.
- Performance Metrics:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) like order fulfillment accuracy, lead times, shipping costs, and labor productivity to identify areas for improvement.
- Team Leadership:
Lead and develop a team of fulfillment professionals, including warehouse staff, production supervisors, and logistics coordinators.
- Cost Optimization:
Identify and implement cost-saving measures within the fulfillment process, such as optimizing packaging materials and transportation logistics.
- Collaboration:
Work closely with sales, customer service, and production teams to ensure smooth order processing and customer satisfaction.
- Technology Implementation:
Evaluate and implement new technologies and systems to improve fulfillment efficiency, such as warehouse management systems (WMS) and production planning software.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Technical field or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing operations and order fulfillment, ideally in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and logistics
- Expertise in inventory control and warehouse management practices
- Excellent analytical skills to identify trends and implement data-driven improvements
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
