Main Duties/Responsibilities: The AP/AR Specialist will be responsible for assisting with all functions of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable that include but not limited to:
- Collections
- Credit Applications
- Credit Card Processing
- Assisting with Vendor Payments (future training)
- Post business transactions, verify vendor financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records
- Ensure timely, accurate, and complete processing of customer & vendor transactions in accordance with month-end deadlines and adherence to cutoff procedures
- Provide other clerical support necessary
- Work collaboratively with Corporate Accounting Team
- Work closely with A/P & A/R Specialists for training
- Assist in collecting documents for audits by our accounting firm, bank, and government agencies
- General office duties
- Maintain proper sales tax form documents
- Additional responsibilities will evolve over time
Qualifications: HS Diploma required. College – AA degree minimum, Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience: Prior accounting (AR/AP) history preferred but not required.
Skills: Proficient in Windows based software and Microsoft Office programs. Excellent knowledge of decimals and fractions. Knowledge of metals within Pennsylvania Steel Company’s product line. Excellent professional verbal and written communications. Well organized and able to multitask and work closely with others in a team atmosphere. The desire to and enjoyment of selling in a fast paced, competitive environment.
