POSITION TITLE: Coil Treat Supervisor 2nd Shift

As the Supervisor, you coordinate and direct the activities of the coil treat department to achieve production and quality objectives. You communicate production duties to meet goals daily. Duties may include preparing materials two weeks before starting winding and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Provide leadership, direction, and instructions for the unionized workforce.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
- Facilitate pass-down sheets by group for off-shift associates or group leaders.
- Review initial labor estimates for accuracy.
- Work with the Manager of Production and Planning to schedule jobs.
- Recommend overtime when necessary to meet schedule demands.
- Monitor employee efficiency.
- Facilitate the development of manufacturing methods (checklists).
- Handle distribution of documents into the work area.
- Ensure required equipment in the area is maintained and calibrated if necessary.
- Oversee training programs on manufacturing methods and skill sets.
- Participate in root cause analysis meetings regarding non-conformances.
- Facilitate incoming inspection is complete within the area.
- Uphold company policies.
- Handle disciplinary issues with the manager by company policies.
- Ensure clean facilities and equipment within the work area.
- Reports before shift change to determine status and set daily schedule.
- Additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous supervisory experience in production, manufacturing, or other related fields
- 2 or 3 years of experience in distribution, medium or large power transformers or breakers preferred.
- 2 years of experience working with multicultural.
- Ability to utilize interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, and dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.
- Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Knowledge of production tools and equipment
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Articulates in analyzing potential problems, provides options and implements agreed solutions.
- Basic Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
- Strong root cause and troubleshooting capabilities – expected to be a technical expert.
- Must be able to work on complex work assignments.
- Has contributory or shared decision impact
- Must have good communication skills – oral and written.
- Good computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Office, programming
PHYSICAL JOB DEMANDS
- Ability to lift 60 lbs., work in extreme hot and cold weather, must stand for long periods, will be exposed to loud noise levels, and operate hand and power tools Work in an environment with dirt, grease, and dust.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory
- Periods of sitting at a desk working on computers
- Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
- Handling of mechanical and electrical tools
- Handling forklifts and cranes is a plus.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS-Relationships are generally intra-organizational interactions with immediate supervisor and personnel under his direction. The incumbent maintains the interface between departments allowing for the coordination and execution of production requirements. Contacts with vendors are also maintained.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Monday through Friday and on-call is required. Shift, weekend may be required. Expect this position to become a shift rotation.
