Pennybyrn has an opportunity for a full-time Pastoral Care Coordinator.

Located in High Point, NC, our community consists of Independent Living, Assisted Living, Healthcare Households, Transitional Rehab, Memory Support, and an Adult Day program. The Pastoral Ministry is a supportive ministry that assists in the healing of the whole person; physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. The Pastoral Care Coordinator provides spiritual and emotional support through prayer, compassionate counsel, ethical guidance, community connection, and opportunities for spiritual growth. This position provides a quality of presence to all at Pennybyrn, but particularly those that are most in need of skilled nursing and experiencing grief or sickness in other parts of the community. This position's presence is provided to residents, families, employees, and the Health Center family.
General description of essential functions :
- Assist with spiritual and temporal needs
- Provide presence and counsel for challenging situations, such as sickness and death.
- Provide prayer and communal worship
- Provide daily attendance, visits, and emotional support for residents
- Complete Spiritual assessments and activities
- Assist the Mission and Pastoral Care Director with spiritual responsibilities and programs
- Must be flexible with availability on holidays and weekends, or outside a traditional 9-5 schedule.
The ideal candidate has experience in providing emotional support or counseling, holds a deep understanding of religious issues, is affiliated with the Catholic Church faith traditions and organization, and has completed a Pastoral Care Program certification, or has the ability to attain within a reasonable amount of time.
Must also have excellent critical thinking and judgement skills, a positive attitude and outlook, an ability to build meaningful relationships, and provide empathetic support.
