Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8AM – 4PM

The Controller supports Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s mission by effective oversite of accounting operations, financial statement, and dashboard preparation. The Controller will work closely with the Accounting Manager, the VP of Finance and Executive Team in developing, implementing, tracking, and reporting all aspects of the affiliate’s financial position. The Controller will be required to collaborate with other staff at Pensacola Habitat to meet deadlines and achieve the department’s and affiliate’s goals.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Commits to Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, communities, and hope.
- Collaborate with CFO and Department Managers to create fiscal year organizational and department budgets.
- Collaborate with CEO, COO, CFO and Vice Presidents to manage budgets including exploring options for cost savings and efficiencies.
- Collaborate with Department Managers to maintain budgets.
- Collaborate with Department Managers with all reporting needs for grants and budget inquiries.
- Leads the Finance staff on process improvements and maximizing accounting software capabilities.
- Collaboration with CFO and Accounting Manager on preparation and consolidation of audit and 990 requirements
- Reconciles general ledger accounts and accounts with subledgers where applicable.
- Prepares and submits financial records requirements on all grant awards.
- Reviews and reconciles job cost items.
- Reviews and prepares job cost reports prior to home sales.
- Prepares and provides analysis on business operations – Special Projects
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software
- Excellent organizational, planning, project management, and implementation skills
- Ability to visualize financial data to help guide strategic direction and operational opportunities.

- Ability to pay strong attention to detail.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to maintain a professional, personal presentation.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration (experience may be considered in lieu of education)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting
- Home construction (job cost) experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is performed primarily in an office setting and may require sitting for long periods at a time.? The anticipated work schedule?is Monday through Friday.
This position requires a valid state driver’s license, safe driving record, reliable transportation, and insurability through our vehicle insurance carrier. This position also requires additional pre-employment screenings?including a personal credit check.?
