What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Inventory Control Clerk position at Penske Cadillac Buick GMC of South Bay?
SUMMARY:
The Parts Inventory Clerk maintains parts and accessories within the Parts Inventory in an efficient and orderly manner organizing the warehouse layout while properly locating and identifying parts and accessories as well as performing routine cycle counts to minimize location and count discrepancies.
Position is 100% on-site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Practice defensive driving and comply with all traffic laws and dealership policies and procedures.
- Takes inventory of the Parts department and investigates any discrepancies.
- Returns and maintains records of damaged or wrong parts from various vendors.
- Prepares and maintains records and reports of parts inventory discrepancies.
- Ensures delivery notes and packing slips of incoming shipments are correct.
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigates to adjust errors.
- Coordinates and manages wholesale deliveries.
- Assists in stocking and arranging parts inventory.
- Manages bi-monthly obsolescence returns.
- Assists the Parts Sales Representatives with special order parts.
- Fill in as a Parts Sales Representative when needed.
- Assist in all other areas of the Parts department when needed.
- Performs other administrative functions as directed by management.
- Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.
- Maintains assigned workspace in an organized and clean manner.
- Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
- Know and comply with client policies and requires for loading and unloading.
- Maintain knowledge of parts inventory to efficiently locate parts.
- Plan routes to ensure on-time pick-up and delivery and maximize drive time efficiency.
- Accurately record delivery/pickup transactions, accepting payment as applicable and deliver all such payments to cashier.
- Unload and sort inbound parts and accessories; give returned merchandise to parts counter for immediate processing.
- Conduct safety and operational check (including all fluid checks) of delivery truck at the beginning and end of shift.
- Support the department by proactively identifying and reporting inventory needs and conducting inventory maintenance.
- Receipt the daily stock order accurately keeping your direct supervisor informed of damaged parts or shortages/overages.
- Support the company’s efforts to train and cross-train employees.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers and promote inter-and intra-team collaboration and cooperation.
- Report to management any situation or condition considered to jeopardize the safety, welfare or integrity of the company, its employees and clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual should possess:
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience working in an automotive parts department.
- Ability to maintain high ethical standards.
- Computer skills - Proficient in Excel and Word.
- Time Management Skills.
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Read, write, and speak English.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well with people in person and on the telephone.
- Knowledge of mathematical principles and application.
- Ability to compile, code, categorize, calculate, audit, or verifying information or date.
- Coordinate activities with other employees.
- Ability to drive a forklift preferred (if no experience, training, and certification will be provided at time of hire).
COMPENSATION: Hourly Rate of $23.00.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described her are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individual will
be required to:
- Individual must be able to sit and stand for long periods at a time.
- Use hands and fingers in repetitive motions, daily.
- Must be able to climb flights of stairs, reach and bend down when assisting with stocking parts.
- It is estimated that handling vehicle body parts will constitute approximately 60% of the physical demands, which includes frequently lifting 0-50 pounds and occasional lifting of 50 pounds or more.
- When working in the warehouse and conducting normal business with the Service department, body Shop, and guests, will be subjected to; dust and exhaust fumes; paint and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Frequently bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk, or hear.
