What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alternative Fuels Project Specialist position at Penske Truck Leasing and Logistics?
Position Summary:
This role will work closely with the Penske Transportation Solutions facilities and operations teams in installation, operation, and maintenance of ZEV infrastructure and supporting systems. The Project Leader will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance programs related to the Penske ZEV infrastructure. The Project Leader will use their analytic and problem-solving skills to develop persuasive value propositions and creative solutions for EVSE equipment and system optimization. Working alongside the ZEV leadership team, the Project Leader will support the decision-makers of current and future infrastructure projects to align with Penske Truck Leasing initiatives. The Project Leader will also support the EV Facilities Team in ZEV feasibility studies, scenario planning, utility and energy availability, and grants and funding.
Major Responsibilities:
- Engage vendors, utilities, and internal customers to understand the needs and requirements including collection, coordination and preparation of required documentation and resolution of discrepancies.
- Develop/build impactful data-based presentations conveying to PTS all elements of the ZEV infrastructure program to include budget, operational, maintenance metrics.
- Interface closely with and foster collaboration between multiple Penske departments, Penske Energy, and vendor partners to quickly achieve cohesive customer-focused solutions.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the existing and emerging ZEV EVSE equipment and supporting data systems
- Organize, plan, and execute project reporting for both executive and operational levels to support best-case decision making for ZEV projects.
- Support revenue and budget targets through analytical data collection, review and report out as it relates to Business Plan and regulations
- Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree required in Data engineering, business and/or technical engineering.
- Preferred: Product (Pragmatic, Agile, etc.); Process (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.); Project (PMI, etc.)
- Green Belt /Black Belt skills and certification a plus
- Minimum 3 years experience of project management or analytics roles in a service, transportation, or renewable energy field is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience in ZEV or similar knowledge of the industry and regulations driving adoption.
- Experience managing projects and data is required; formal training in this area is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Strong reporting and analytic skills
- Active listening and critical thinking skills
- Experience in consulting or training
- Knowledge and understanding of the transportation industry
- Strong desire to learn and understand the emerging vehicle and charging technologies
- Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills
- Effective and strong communication skills, including oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and independently with strong attention to detail
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
