Safety Compliance Specialist (Job Number: 2224331 )
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting the company’s safety efforts, and ensuring compliance with various FMCSA, FTA and OSHA regulations and programs including Driver Qualification Files, random drug and alcohol testing programs, continuous MVR monitoring, CSA BASICS, and other regulatory requirements that effect the business. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing analytic support for the development of safety and compliance programs and processes.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead continuous MVR monitoring program administration and review.
- Coordinate the Random Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Administer the Keller DQ File program and enhance compliance.
- Review CSA scores and follow-up for PTL associate violations.
- Address other Drug and Alcohol program violations or discrepancies.
- Create safety alerts, bulletins and presentations for Rental and Maintenance Departments.
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Business Logistics or other field preferred.
- Safety Professional or Transportation Professional certification preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience working in the safety or motor carrier field with knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations as they relate to the transportation industry.
- Must possess basic knowledge and understanding of transportation industry and shop safety.
- Must have a complete grasp of OSHA and DOT laws/regulations and the company’s business operations and be able to use this knowledge to develop solutions aligning with major responsibilities above.
- Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office products (Microsoft Access, Excel, Word).
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including influencing and relationship building.
