The Project Manager leads product development teams in the overall project planning and execution, balancing scope, schedule, and resources. Manages 4-5 projects at a time related to activities from concept to design transfer into Manufacturing. Ensures cross-functional communication to facilitate project completion on time and within budget, effectively utilizing the defined product development process. Works with engineering management to identify and improve process and project efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the project team in overall project planning, execution, and product quality while balancing scope, schedule, and resources.
- Establish strong operating mechanisms to track progress, identify issues and risks, overcome obstacles, and define recovery plans.
- Participate in the definition and development of technical solutions and requirements for assigned R&D projects.
- Ensure the completion of relevant R&D project deliverables such as drawings, bill of material, electrical diagrams, application software, firmware software, equipment purchase specifications, test procedures, technical descriptions and instructions, product analysis, etc.
- Chair and coordinate the communication of project status to the Steering Committee, Program Managers, Functional management, and other stakeholders.
- Utilize cross-discipline technical understanding to facilitate technical solutions and / or risk mitigation resolution by project teams.
- Align with other project or program managers to identify dependencies and resolve conflicts.
- Ensure functional deliverables are compliant with regulatory and business unit quality system requirements.
- Ensure the completion and maintenance of all required documentation, paperwork, records, in accordance with established company procedures, work processes, and product development gate processes.
- Ensure that the operation and service plans, including ramp-up, are defined and developed.
Maintain technical competency and remain current in changes in the industry.
Essential Skills
PMP Certification or Project Management training or degree
