The Associate Accountant provides support to the financial department by providing accounting and administrative support. This position will work closely with the Accounting Manager and other Finance department staff. The ideal individual will be well versed in accounting principles, collaborate and have high attention to detail.
Responsibilities of the Associate Accountant:
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements
- Post and process journal entries to record business transactions
- Maintain prepaid and accrued schedules
- Support Accounts Payable function by posting invoices
- Prepare account analysis and end of month balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
- Process and issues non-trade intra company/intercompany chargebacks to internal and affiliated companies
- Assist with month end closing activities
- Support internal and external audits
- Assist with tax requests
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures
- Provide support to the Accounting Group
- Prepare ad-hoc reporting and assist with special projects as requested
Requirements of the Associate Accountant:
- Bachelor’s Degree is Accounting, Finance or other related field
- 1-3 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, Strong Financial Modeling experience, PowerPoint, Outlook and SAP
- Experience with, GAAP, General Ledger, and Statutory Reporting
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written, verbal communication and collaborative skills
- Work well in a team or individual setting
