Perrino moved into the retail space with their furniture showroom when a longtime supplier closed their doors. Perrino identified an opportunity to leverage this retailer’s industry relationships to form a direct to supplier business model.
Perrino is seeking an experienced and dynamic Furniture Store Manager to lead and grow their retail location with the exceptional opportunity to assume ownership of the showroom in time.
Perrino is looking for a partner with deep ties in the interior design community and experience in the upscale furnishings retail market to lead and grow the retail business.
As the Furniture Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the store's operations, including sales, customer service, inventory management, and staff supervision. Your goal is to create a positive shopping experience for customers while achieving sales targets, growing the customer base and maintaining efficient store operations. Your success can lead to your potential ownership of the showroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Store Operations Management:
- Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the furniture store.
- Develop and implement store policies and procedures.
- Maintain the store's visual appearance and ensure merchandise is displayed attractively.
Sales and Customer Service:
- Set sales targets and develop strategies to achieve and exceed them.
- Train and motivate salesteam to provide exceptional customer service.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance and customer feedback.
Team/Staff Management:
- Recruit, hire, and train new team members/employees as required.
- Schedule and assign tasks to team/staff members, ensuring adequate coverage.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Visual Merchandising:
- Plan and execute merchandise displays to maximize sales and enhance the shopping experience.
- Ensure that products are correctly priced, labeled, and promoted.
- Implement seasonal or promotional displays as needed.
Inventory Control:
- Monitor inventory levels and manage stock levels efficiently.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Coordinate with managers to ensure timely deliveries and product availability.
Budgeting and Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the store's budget, including sales targets and expenses.
- Track and analyze financial performance, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare regular financial reports for senior management.
Loss Prevention and Security:
- Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and shrinkage.
- Ensure the security of the store premises and assets.
- Handle security incidents and liaise with relevant authorities when necessary.
Marketing and Promotion:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute local marketing initiatives.
- Participate in promotional events and sales campaigns to drive foot traffic and sales.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in retail management, preferably in the furniture, interior design or home furnishings industry.
- Preferred: Relationships in the interior design space with clients, interior designers, and other home furniture industry related experts.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proficient in inventory management and budgeting.
- Knowledge of interior design and furniture trends, styles, and materials.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and retail software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
