Summary : Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Vice President of Accounting to join the finance team. The VP of Accounting will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the brand portfolio. This position requires a deep understanding of controlling functions with the ability to help drive the company towards being IPO ready. Responsibilities : Strategic Financial Leadership Partner with the CFO and executive team to develop and implement the company’s financial strategy, particularly in preparation for an IPO Consult with appropriate resources, both internal and external, to ensure that new accounting issues, transactions, agreements, etc. are analyzed and understood from an accounting standpoint Provide leadership and management for all Company-wide accounting functions, external financial reporting and equity plan administration Collaborate with other functions (including Business Development, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Tax) to support financial analysis related to proposed acquisitions, and provide accounting guidance and analysis around proposed transactions Financial Management & Reporting Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly financial statements, ensuring appropriate compliance and coordination among all constituents Manage year-end closing procedures including timely preparation of audit Review and update accounting policies / procedures regularly, and ensure documentation and implementation of new policies / procedures as necessary Oversee the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Develop and implement processes and controls to meet public company standard Manage accounting for new acquisitions and any disposals or downsizings Cash Flow and Liquidity Management Monitor cash flow and liquidity, ensuring the company meets its financial obligations, including cross function collaboration Optimize working capital management, including inventory, accounts receivable, and accounts payable Develop strategies to improve cash flow and enhance financial stability Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required. Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in accounting or finance, with proven experience as a controller and at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role Knowledge of eCommerce platforms (e.g., specifically Amazon and Shopify) as well as traditional retail / brick and mortar channels strongly preferred History of working with inventory driven businesses and appropriate landed cost accounting Ability to identify issues, work independently and engage across the organization Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience with NetSuite is highly valued Significant experience with internal controls and building accounting processes from scratch including owning and managing relationship with auditors (PCAOB audits a plus) Strong leadership and team management abilities with capability to build and lead a team containing both on shore and off shore resources Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to and face off with non-financial stakeholders. Experience with IPO processes and public company reporting requirements including current regulatory landscape Employment Information : This position is Remote in the United States.
