General Summary:
Under the direction of the Transportation Operations Supervisor and in accordance with the guidelines
and policies of the company and local, state, and federal laws, provides daily coordination of the drivers
transportation scheduling and or the daily coordination of real-time dispatch. This position requires an
individual with comprehensive knowledge of transit operation and good customer relations, internal
and external. Bilingual skills preferred.
Essential Functions/Duties:
- Assists with scheduling passengers to proper vehicles and routes to ensure operation at peak
- Assists in coordination with Transportation Operations Supervisor and Primary Scheduler to
monitors routes for efficiency and ensures coordination of trips.
- Coordinates trips based on passenger needs; monitors routes for efficiency and ensures
- Enters passenger and vehicle information into dispatch/scheduling software program.
- Dispatches communication through a Mobile Data Tablet and two-way radio with drivers.
- Responsible for daily coordination of real-time dispatch and dispatch office operations.
- Assists in response to drivers on any accidents, incidents, and complaints; and reports findings
- Answer telephones and screen clients according to funding source.
- Maintains knowledge of and communicates information to the public concerning the People For
- Working knowledge of geographical layout of counties served as to location of cities, location of
- Maintains computerized records and data bases in an orderly fashion and compiles data from
- Assists in monitoring driver’s hours worked and accumulation of over time.
- Daily verification of driver schedules, computer information entries and verify accuracy of data.
- Provides outreach support for the Transportation Department at various events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Educational/Work Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in dispatching, transit dispatching, clerical and communication work; or equivalent
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Computer knowledge and experience.
Other Requirements:

- Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred, but not required.
- Radio dispatch experience, preferred but not required.

- Duties are performed primarily in an office environment.
