General Summary
The Meals On Wheels floater fills in where needed for the Cook, Site Manager, Home Delivery
Driver and/or Warehouse Assistant/Supervisor. Provide specific oversight for the congregate and
home delivery programs. Responsibilities include receiving and delivering meals and related
supplies, completing paperwork, registering participants, and ensuring overall program goals are
achieved.
Essential Function and Duties
- Treats clients, coworkers and public with compassion, empathy and professionalism.
- Ensures day-to-day operations at the congregate site are carried out according to direction
- Completes on-site paperwork including registration of participants, food orders, donation
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining culinary utensils and equipment and the working area
- Responsible for cooking and packing meals following standard recipes and ensures they are
- Responsible for packing and delivering meals for home delivery and/or meal pick-up
- Responsible for operating all company vehicles in a safe manner, using defensive driving
- Responsible for loading, delivering and unloading food supplies to the kitchens and warehouse.
- Responsible for reporting all accidents/incidents, and completes appropriate written reports.
- Mandated reporter of abused and neglected vulnerable adults by submitting report to Adult
- Ability to maintain a clean, neat appearance and pleasant disposition; and possess the ability to
timely manner.
- Assists with fundraisers and caterings.
- Attends training and staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as required.

- Principles, practices, procedures and equipment used in storage of food in large quantities.
- Food handling, sanitation and related safety measures in food service operations
- Care and use of culinary equipment.
- Organizing and planning in carrying out work activities.

- Operating food service equipment.
- Maintaining a safe working environment.
- Experience with completing paperwork accurately.

Educational/Work Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Current Health Department Food Handlers Permit.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
Other Requirements
- Employment is contingent upon successfully completing and passing a Pre-employment Drug
Reference Checks and all other required documents.
Working Conditions/Physical Environment
- Duties are performed primarily in a warehouse environment.
- Physical requirements include the dexterity to reach, stand, climb, squat, twist, finger
standing and light lifting for most of the work time.
- Minimum computer
- Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force
require heavier work.
