In the Clinic Assistant role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Communicate in person and over the phone to answer questions, provide information on eligibility by gathering background information; also assists in the completion of various forms and applications.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding lab results, medications, and related areas, or refers to provider.
- Maintain and update client's record.
- Conduct quality control check tests on equipment.
- Set up exam room, gather supplies and materials; ensure equipment is in proper working order. Sterilize and disinfect laboratory equipment. Clean exam rooms according to established protocols.
- Provide intake service for programs. Coordinate initial interview, screen for insurance coverage, answer questions regarding departmental procedures and requirements, program requirements, scheduling information, and other activities.
- Document information in external and internal databases
- Assist in resolution of issues associated with client interactions with service providers.
- Provide program outreach activities.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent knowledge and experience, preferred
- Two (2) years of experience in a clinic or lab setting, preferred
- Ability to manage multi-line phone system and emails
- Ability to operate testing, diagnostic, and lab equipment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact in a positive and professional manner
- Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to read and understand a medical chart and labs a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
- Strong data entry skills
- Ability to travel using personal transportation, as needed
- High level of confidentiality required
