The Human Resources Assistant supports the Human Resources Director and Generalist by handling administrative tasks and services that ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the HR department. This role also contributes to developing and implementing programs aimed at enhancing employee retention, safety, productivity, and training.

Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files, documentation, and records in a timely manner. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Monitors HR queue and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Assists with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, and fixing processing errors.
- Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers; assists with reconciliation of invoices and benefits data transfer.
- Assists with the hiring process including job postings, pre-employment process, and new employee onboarding. Facilitates new hire orientation.
- Coordinates and supports company-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new hire orientation, and meetings to announce or discuss changes in retirement or benefit plans.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Participates in the collection and standardization of the company’s training programs and facilitates training sessions as needed.
- Provides support and maintenance of the electronic filing system.
- Collaborates with managers, supervisors, and others involved in employee development efforts.
- Provides general administrative support including but not limited to phone and email correspondence, maintaining records, completing account certifications, and data entry.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Able to function well and remain flexible in a high-paced and quickly changing environment.
- Maintain a satisfactory level of attendance and tardiness as defined in the company attendance policy.
Education, training, and experience:
- Successful completion of a high school diploma or GED.
- Three years of office experience preferred.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, with intermittent walking and standing.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling office equipment.

- Regular interaction with staff, customers, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Extended periods of computer use may be required.
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime to meet deadlines or business needs.
