Description : Summary :
To oversee the financial health of the organization, securing the assets and meeting all the outstanding obligations.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Prepare monthly and quarterly income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements agreed upon by deadlines established with the CEO.
- Oversee reconciliation of all detail and subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
- Oversee bookkeepers in processing accounts payable.
- Process member payments and resignations to ensure the accuracy and timelines of records. Work to ensure the member database contains accurate member records.
- Develop annual operating, capital, and cash flow budgets with the CEO for inclusion in the annual business plan.
- Provide verbal and / or written reports analyzing co-op financial performance in relationship to budget.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures with the CEO for inventory control, margin, markups, markdowns and recording of transfers and losses.
- Coordinate accurate and efficient quarterly and audited inventories with operations manager.
- Supervise and prepare records for annual financial review and / or audits.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures with the CEO for handling cash.
- Perform margin analyses and other reports as requested by the CEO.
- Oversee preparation of payroll taxes. Ensure the timeliness of sales tax and other tax returns.
- Oversee accounts payable to ensure cash flow, maintain good credit and take supplier discounts where advantageous.
- Work with the CEO to provide analysis of impact on profit and cash flow of proposed capital expenditures, relocation, expansion or other changes in operations.
- Ensure up to date, accurate bank reconciliation.
- Oversee deposits and investments for the best rate of return and lowest service charges.
- Work with the CEO to investigate sources of financing.
- Oversee the computerization of appropriate accounting operations.
- Meet with department managers upon request to answer questions regarding monthly or quarterly financial statements.

The salary range for this position is : $85,000 - $95,000 annually.
