Position Overview:
As a Resident Adjuster at People's Trust Insurance, you will play a critical role in the claims process, focusing on property claims. You will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving property claims in a timely and efficient manner. This position requires strong technical knowledge of property damage assessment, familiarity with policy language, and excellent customer service skills. The Resident Adjuster will work closely with policyholders and internal teams to deliver prompt and accurate claims resolutions in alignment with the company's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Claim Investigation: Conduct thorough on-site inspections of damaged properties to assess the extent of loss and gather necessary documentation, including photographs and statements from policyholders and witnesses.
- Policy Review & Coverage Determination: Analyze insurance policies to determine coverage, including exclusions and limitations. Apply policy language to facts to determine claim eligibility.
- Claim Estimation: Use Xactimate to prepare detailed estimates of repair costs for damaged properties, ensuring accuracy and fairness in the assessment.
- Customer Communication: Maintain consistent, professional communication with policyholders throughout the claims process. Provide clear explanations of coverage, claims procedures, and settlement options.
- Settlement Negotiation: Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and other third parties to negotiate repair costs and settlement figures that are fair and in accordance with policy terms.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all investigations, communications, and claim determinations. Prepare reports for internal use and regulatory compliance.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the claims team, legal counsel, and other departments to ensure seamless claim processing and resolution.
- Compliance & Best Practices: Stay current on state regulations, company guidelines, and industry best practices. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or a related field preferred.
- Licensing: Must possess a valid Florida 5-20 or 6-20 Insurance Adjuster License.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of property adjusting experience in residential claims. Familiarity with Florida insurance regulations and guidelines is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance policies.
- Advanced proficiency in Xactimate 28.0 and sketch.
- Knowledge of residential construction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- High level of professionalism and customer service focus.
Physical & Travel Requirements:
- Ability to work in the field, including climbing ladders, walking on roofs, and navigating damaged properties.
- Must have a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation for local travel.
