What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Chef position at People's Waffle LLC?

Job Summary
We pride ourselves on the culinary creations served from our kitchen, and are looking for an experienced and passionate cook to help support our team. The ideal candidate for this position is calm under pressure, extremely efficient with their time, and detail-oriented. They must also enjoy working in a busy restaurant environment and are capable of giving direction clearly and able to multi-task.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Run the line in tandem with a line cook in a professional kitchen with the expectation to run it independently when needed
- Ability to learn the menu and execute flawlessly
- Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
- Collaborate with the team to prepare food during our dining hours
- Maintain accurate food inventories
- Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
- Rotate stock items as per established procedures
- Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
- Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift
- Responsible for ordering and keeping COGS in our percentage requirements
- Hire and train other kitchen staff
Qualifications & Skills
- 3 years' experience as a Cook in the restaurant industry
- Able to read and follow standardized recipes
- Experience working with gluten free and dairy free is a BIG PLUS
- Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
- Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere
- Ability to work in tight spaces is also a PLUS because the People's Waffle kitchen is very small
- Experience with Combi ovens a PLUS

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
