Description
PWS Title: Financial Program Analyst
Location: Dam Neck (Virginia Beach), VA
Clearance Type: Secret
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Reconcile commitments and obligations in support of the validation of accounting transactions by working with departments, Contracts, Accounting, and Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS).
- Reconcile expenses, accruals and accounts payable in support of the validation of accounting transactions by working with departments, Contracts, Accounting, and DFAS.
- Perform research and perform analysis of detailed transactions and reports for corrections of erroneous charges to include complex calculations of high visibility tasks.
- Work with Accounting to ensure programs are in compliance with Department of Navy (DoN), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), and local instructions.
- Keep files in order and fax/scan documents to include all Accounting programs.
- Work with DFAS to review validation requests for "Invoice Pre-Validation". Upon review of the requests the Contractor will report findings supporting the acceptance or rejection to the Government accounting official to respond to DFAS.
- Support the command overhead and service cost center budget preparation, execution tracking, and reporting through data extraction via the financial system of record and data warehouse
- Support weekly and monthly reporting and/or analysis.
- Provide support to update and manage reporting formats for the command weekly and monthly budget execution reports.
Qualifications
- Four (4) years related experience, with at least two (2) years of experience in one or more of the following: financial audit, analysis, Government travel policy and administration, civilian pay and leave policy and administration, assessing program compliance with Financial Management Regulations (FMR), financial and accounting transactions or program cost analysis.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to apply current DoD and Navy financial and administrative directives to Navy programs.
