The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In a clinical setting, the incumbent will provide diagnostic and therapeutic medical care and services under the direct supervision of a licensed physician..• As the leading Doctor, the incumbent will be responsible for the administration and delivery of all medical/clinical treatment programs, including medical, medical ancillary and psychiatric services, by both facility healthcare staff and consultants.• The primary duties will include responsibility for providing direct clinical services and overall medical management to a panel of individuals with developmental disabilities. • Additional duties will include working with medical staff, medical representation on teams, participate in facility wide committees and compliance with all oversight entitles, example: (OPWDD, DOH).• Physical medicine and medical-ancillary services.• Maintenance of accepted standards of medical practice, while ensuring the provision of quality medical care services.• Full compliance with Office of People with Developmental Disabilities policy regulations, especially as they pertain to operating under Intermediate Care Facility Standards.• Other duties as assigned.#LI-AK1#LI-NB1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/nys-office-for-people-with-developmental-disabilities/posts/?feedView=all

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a license to practice medicine in New York State AND certification by a Member Board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Current Medical Specialist 2 OR Eligible for 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable to Medical Specialist 2, by the Department of Civil Service

HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment. This means that you do not need to take an exam to qualify, but you do need to meet the minimum qualifications of the title. If you are hired under the HELPS Program, you will be first be appointed as a temporary employee. In May 2024, if you are performing successfully in the position, your appointment will be changed from temporary to permanent non-competitive. Once you are in permanent status, your official probationary period will begin and you may take any promotion exam for which you are qualified. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their permanent non-competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status. You will not have to take an exam to gain permanent competitive status. • The assignment of PS&T employees will be made in accordance with any agreed upon Memorandum of Understanding between PEF and the local DDSO regarding the posting of job vacancies. • Preference will be given to OPWDD employees impacted by closures. The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments have been made under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.
