Full-time Quality Technician

- Monday - Thursday; Voluntary OT on Friday

Position Summary : The Quality Technician will be responsible for managing parts in and out of the non-conforming material area; verifying all rework methods; training on rework methods; managing material once disposed of in MRB; participating in and leading studies (in conjunction with Engineering and Production) to analyze product quality, process performance, and measurement systems. Assisting in training and coaching production team members in the proper use of inspection and measurement methods.
Primary Duties :
Investigation of nonconforming material, customer-identified or internally identified, and works with the team to correct and prevent recurrence.Responsible for the development and implementation of production check sheets, visual standards, and work instructions.Coordinate and manage metrology / calibration system (internal / external).Assist in compiling ISIR and other elements of the PPAP package to assist QE / QM as needed.Review and monitor shop floor quality records for proper validation and follow-up, as necessary.Use MS systems to determine product traceability, containment activities, scrap / rework jobs, and coordinate customer and supplier returns.Support leadership in the training of team members in quality techniques.Build and maintain strong relationships with supply partners and customers.Coordinate tagging and identifying material for PPAP, samples, non-conforming, etc.Work together with the team in the generation of inspection procedures and measurement work instructions, as well as the design of inspection and measurement solutions.Responsible for process audits, product audits, and quality management system internal audits as scheduled.Issue quality alerts and conduct appropriate training.Conduct practical problem-solving with operations.Perform receiving inspection and dock audits as needed.Conduct part verification, and physical testing and develop reports of results for meeting customer-specific requirements.Participate in 8D activities, as neededParticipate in PFMEA and Control Plan developmentPerforms other related duties as assigned.Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 3 years in quality inspection and audits in a manufacturing environmentAutomotive experience preferred.Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.Ability to Set-up and Calibrate machinesMust know about The Production Part Approval ProcessPhysical Requirements :
Extensive standing, recurring bending, reaching as well as moderate to heavy lifting.Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.Continuous mental and / or visual attention to operating machine(s).Must be able to lift 45 pounds at a time.Why Peoplelink?
