Assistant Public Works Director Job Summary:

• $122,000 - $196,000 salary

• Applies professional engineering judgement and advanced subject knowledge to facilitate departmental operations under the direction of the Public Works Director.

• Plans, organizes, controls, integrates, provides oversight, and evaluates the work of the assigned Divisions, ensuring that goals and objectives are met.

• Oversees the preparation of specifications and standards for work to be done on County roads and bridges.

• Oversees the County transportation infrastructure, maintenance and roadway resurfacing programs.

• Develops and negotiates inter-jurisdictional agreements for capital projects which may include planning, engineering, surveying, right-of-way and construction.

Assistant Public Works Director Qualifications:

• BS Civil Engineering and 10 years of work experience in municipal or private sector public works type function

• FL or reciprocal PE license

• Knowledge of municipal transportation design and construction management procedures and guidelines, land development and residential/commercial site development

• Knowledge of principles and practices of general fiscal management, including budget preparation and administration

• Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, personnel development and management

• FDOT designs for alsphalt mixes and resurfacting procedures.
