PeopleReady Skilled Trades is looking for experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics in North Charleston, South Carolina and surrounding regions. In this role, you will be Fabricating & setting up HVAC equipment and ductwork for Residential & Commercial projects.
The hourly rate for this position is $24 - $28 / hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless a deadline is otherwise stated.
Responsibilities :
- Hours : 8 Hour Shifts | Monday - Friday | 40 Hours
- Assemble and hang duct systems
- Install accessories such as VAVs, fire dampers, and control dampers
- Set hangers, roof curbs, and wall sleeves
- Measure and cut sheet metal by hand or with tools
- Understand and comply with applicable Building Code and Safety Rules
- Follow blueprints to determine project requirements such as scope, assembly sequences, or required methods or material
- Fasten joints and seams with solder, welds, caulk, bolts, and metal driver clips
- Install assemblies, including pipes, HVAC ducts, flashings, rain gutters, and furnace casings in a supportive framework
- Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file, and grind metal surfaces and joints of parts that have been assembled to ensure safety and a seamless appearance
