Director, Strategic Sourcing (Hybrid work week)
Based in Chicago

Agility to support the dynamic nature of daily operations and changes, including innovation, volume fluctuations, etc.
Ability to see around corners of changing market conditions commodity market shifts, regulatory changes, etc.
Able to identify, prioritize, and source high-quality ingredients across multiple product categories in collaboration with other cross-functional teams
Can operate at the intersection of several cross-functional stakeholders; understands upstream & downstream implications of work and can manage tradeoffs between competing priorities.
Adapt quickly and roll up sleeves during operational fire drills (supplier recalls, volume surges, etc.)
Able to quickly problem solve and corral the organizations resources to do so
Manage a team of 10 , recruit, develop, motivate, and performance manage the talent on the team.
Key Activities :
Strategic planning
Maintain a roadmap of initiatives / priorities across categories
Evaluate the regulatory environment and potential impact on the categories and brand
Evaluate supply chain risks and opportunities in real-time (e.g., tariffs, border closures)
Participate in Executive Leadership team meetings
Provide consistent and timely qualitative KPI results
Evaluate external markets / vendors
Conduct RFPs
Select vendor based on a range of criteria
Manage spec changes similar process / steps as new ingredient sourcing
Manage depletions to reduce inventory risk
Contract negotiations for new and existing items
Evaluate supplier mix
Negotiate favorable pricing & other contract terms (freight, exclusivity, etc)
Determine contract pricing vs market priority on needle-moving commodities (e.g., proteins)
